Hi there! I am Yue Cai, the creator of this website. Welcome!

When people think about a drama play, the first graphic that comes to mind is usually the actors showing their talents on stage. While like an iceberg, exposed in the lights is just a tiny part of a production. What is it like behind the spotlights?

This website embodies the complete preparation process of Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, the 2023 Spring Production of Thus Spoke Ann Arbor (TSAA), a student-running Chinese drama organization at the University of Michigan. From directors to actors, costumes to props crews, light board to soundboard managers, we gathered here because of passions, curiosities, and a love of drama. Every effort deserves to be remembered.

2023 is the 10th year of TSAA. As a younger generation in this community, I found it hard to get to know what it was like ten years ago. While Heritage is the core for an organization to keep developing, I feel obligated to do something. Through this website, I hope to save the precious memories generated at the beginning of 2023 for the current members and TSAA in the future, with the additional purpose of communicating the Chinese culture on this inclusive campus of U of M.

Acknowledgment: All media used on this website involve the hard work of many Thus Spoke Ann Arbor members, actors, and staff. I would like to especially thank Yaohan Ye, our director,  Yuchen Wu, our props manager, Judy Zhu, our assistant director, and Bianca Wang, our promotion team leader, for their efforts in organizing this production and putting things forward in tough situations. I would also like to thank Mr. Andy T for his support and guidance on this project.
